As a new co-founder Film Finder (App), our current implementation needed a comprehensive UX review and redesign to ensure a successful launch on the App Store for our latest version (3.0). The project involved optimising the user flow, crafting intuitive page layouts, and conducting extensive user testing. Following this we successfully launched our new 3.0 version with minimal bugs.
This project is currently under NDA but a brief summary is provided below. Please contact me for a more comprehensive overview.
- Conducted user research with film enthusiasts to understand pain points and user needs.
- Analysed competitor apps such as IMBd and Netflix to gather best practices.
- Led the design direction, ensuring consistency and usability.
- Developed wireframes and prototypes to visualise new layouts and flows.
- Conducted both generative and evaluative user testing.
- Used insights from testing to iterate on designs and improve the app.
- User Flow: Users found the initial user flow confusing and cumbersome. E.g a lack of a homepage disoriented users.
- Page Layouts: The original layouts were cluttered, making it hard to find key features.
- Usability: Identified several minor usability issues that impacted the overall experience.
- Simplified the user flow by streamlining key processes and created a homepage to help with navigation.
- Contributed to designing a "collections" feature for users to save their favourite films.
- Redesigned page layouts to be clean and intuitive.
- Fixed usability issues based on user feedback to enhance the overall experience.
The revamped Film Finder App saw a successful launch on the App Store, with positive feedback from users regarding its intuitive design and smooth user experience.
